Two hurt Friday in two-vehicle crash
WHITESIDE COUNTY – Two Rock Falls women were injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 40 at Blue Heron Drive south of Rock Falls.
Whiteside County Sheriff's deputies responded at 8:30 p.m. A vehicle driven by Dana L. Szakatits, 66, was southbound on Route 40 and stopped in traffic waiting to turn onto Blue Heron Drive, when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Stephanie G. Schutz, 20.
Both women were taken by CGH EMS to CGH Medical Center in Sterling for treatment or observation. Szakatits was treated and released. Schutz's condition was unavailable Monday. Schutz was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Rock Falls police and fire, Sterling fire, and Slim and Hank's Towing assisted at the scene.
One injured Friday in two-vehicle crash
OGLE COUNTY – A Davis Junction man suffered minor injuries Friday in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 251 North.
Ogle County Sheriff's deputies and New Milford firefighters responded at 9:48 p.m. A southbound car driven by Richard Hoovler, 26, of Davis Junction, had stopped for a car turning, when his vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Camille Lowe, 47, of Lindenwood.
Hoovler was taken to SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, where his condition was unavailable Monday. Lowe was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
