McHenry County College’s continuing education department offers classes on Saturday morning or evenings during the week starting this month.
Class include from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Sept. 12 through Oct. 31 (course code NWL C01 014); from 6 to 9:20 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 14 through Oct. 21 (course code NWL C01 015); or from 6 to 9:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 15 through Oct. 22 (course code NWL C01 016).

Welders work in a variety of environments, both indoors and outdoors, using heat to melt and fuse metal for a common bond. Many products used today involve welding.
The boot camps cover all three types of welding: MIG, TIG and ARC welding, which are used in manufacturing and industry.
The cost is $1,000 a student.
The college also offers an advanced welding class Saturday mornings, Nov. 14 through Dec. 12, at the Woodstock Center. The fee for that program is $500 a student.
