Eddie Caruso Hair Salon grand re-opening set for next week

ST. CHARLES – A St. Charles business has been remodeled from top to bottom, and residents are invited to see the results.

Eddie Caruso Hair Salon will have a grand re-opening from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 21 at 2400 E. Main St., Suite 109, St. Charles.

“I’ve done a complete makeover now – the shop looks absolutely beautiful,” Eddie Caruso said.

The oak finishings in the salon were replaced with black and white tones. The laminated hardwood floor was converted to metallic, commercial-grade epoxy, said Chris Cesario, Caruso’s son-in-law.

Cesario also had a large mural painted on one of the back walls that depicts a woman getting her bangs cut.

Cesario and his wife, Ashley – Caruso’s daughter – took over ownership of the store in March. Everyone agreed the space was outdated and needed a fresh look.

To celebrate the revamped space and thank its customers, the store will offer a choice of one free service a customer during the four-hour grand re-opening event, Cesario said.

The free services will be done for walks-in only and include women’s blowouts, waxing, men’s haircuts or massages, he said. St. Charles Mayor Ray Rogina is expected to appear at a ribbon-cutting at the salon at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 21.

In addition to haircuts, styling and coloring, the business offers skin care, electrolysis, facials and waxing. Massage services will begin later this month, Cesario said.

“We want to be known as a higher-end salon and offer more spa services to piggyback what we have been doing for many years,” he said.

The salon has about 20 stylists and currently is looking for more, in addition to receptionists. Even without the owner title, Caruso himself will continue to take care of clients, and the salon will continue with his name.

“You will still see [Caruso’s] name on the building, and you’ll still see his face here – that’s important,” Cesario said.
