Romeoville, Bolingbrook Valley View teachers accept administrative positions

Fourth-grade, special education teachers to lead Jonas Salk, S.T.E.P.

Former teachers at Valley View School District 365U have been promoted, and will help run Jonas Salk Elementary School and the district's Secondary Transition Experience Program, according to district news releases.

Beverly Skoff Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Liz Hornback, a 15-year veteran with the district, has been named assistant principal for Jonas Salk.

Hornback, a former principal and director of the district's Summer Learning Experience program, has been a third- and fourth-grade teacher at Beverly Skoff and Irene King elementary schools.

She was a webmaster for both schools, a member of several district-level committees and a member of the Skoff Leadership Team for four years.

Former special education teacher Andrea Ellexson is the new principal of the Secondary Transition Experience Program, or S.T.E.P.

Ellexson has spent seven years with S.T.E.P. and the Valley View Early Childhood Center, and 10 years with the district. She has also been an Extended School Year principal, Parent Network Night facilitator and the Bolingbrook High School varsity badminton coach.
