LEMONT – Oakwood School in Lemont celebrated its final reading incentive program of the year in award-winning style by recognizing and celebrating their top readers.
Vincenzo and Luciano Mancini in second grade took top honors by reading a combined total of 176 books. As part of the hockey-themed program, Vincenzo, who read 94 books, carried Oakwood’s version of the Stanley Cup, a traveling trophy, around the school on Monday.
Shelley Mandarino’s first grade class won the overall contest by reading 727 books.
