WARRENVILLE – The Warrenville Road Bridge over the West Branch DuPage River is closing May 21 until the end of November, according to a DuPage County news release.
Construction crews will be replacing the bridge.
Warrenville Road will be closed at the same time to through traffic between River and Winfield roads, but will remain open for local traffic and businesses. During construction, traffic will be detoured using River, Ferri and Winfield roads.
Signs will be posted directing traffic along the detour route.
The scope of the project includes the removal of the four-lane bridge and construction of a three-lane bridge. The three-lane bridge will include two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane.
Additionally, there will be roadway reconstruction and drainage improvements, construction of a bike path along the south side of Warrenville Road between the bridge and Winfield Road, and decorative concrete railings and lighting.
