Michael Liss

PERU — Michael Paul Liss, 37, of 2205 Marquette Road, Peru, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 3, 2015.

Michael was born in Peru on July 13, 1977, to Marion “Slim” and Marilyn Pieczynski Liss. Michael was a person that would help everyone in need and never said no. It was give me ten minutes and I’ll be there and would never let anyone down. Michael's best time in his life was spending outdoors with his son Tristan or watching him playing youth football. He loved being an assistant coach and teaching the young boys what football was all about to be a good player. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and archery.

Michael worked at Inman Electric in LaSalle for eight years and respected his work buddies, office members and the family he worked for, as it was one big family to him.

He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Liss of Peru; his son, Tristan; two brothers, Kevin (Amy Grivetti) Pikul of Peru and Craig Pikul of LaSalle; his ex-wife, Angie Liss of Tonica; his girlfriend, Nickie Elizondo of Oswego; and one nephew, Brock Pikul.

He is preceded in death by his father, Marion Liss; and his grandparents, Stanley and Loretta Pieczynski.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, in the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle. Services will be private with the Rev. Mark Nowakowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent's Cemetery in LaSalle.

Pallbearers will be Kevin and Craig Pikul, Dustin Doubet, Corey Schuh, Brian Inman and Jeremy Actis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are for the continuing education for his son.
