McHENRY – The McHenry Police Department is investigating a robbery Friday at the BMO Harris Bank on Richmond Road in McHenry, police said.
Officers confirmed the robbery after responding to a call that came in at 11:36 a.m. for an incident at 1712 N. Richmond Road, according to a police news release.
A white male, described to be about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-8 with a thin build, apparently entered BMO Harris Bank, approached the teller, and passed a note demanding currency, the release said. He fled eastbound on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Police said no weapon was displayed.
He was last seen wearing a tan/off-white fisherman's style hat with writing on the front, dark-colored pants, a dark blue or green jacket, and dark shoes. He also was carrying a black backpack at the time of the robbery.
The Rockford office of the FBI was notified of the incident and will be assisting in the investigation.
