Village Vocal Chords, a women's champion barbershop chorus, will present "It's SHOWtime!" at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in Elmhurst. The VVC, based in Glen Ellyn, calls it a light-hearted musical about the travails of planning a show with a large group of busy and opinionated women.
The performance is set in the Worship Center of Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 149 W. Brush Hill Road.
Village Vocal Chords is a repeat international championship chorus of Harmony, Inc., having won the honor an unprecedented 19 times. With more than 50 years of experience in performing, competing and creating annual shows, they present a completely a cappella package loaded with fun, humor and lots of harmony, note organizers.
In addition to two sets performed by the full chorus, the show will feature three of its quartets – U4X, The Karamels and Four Eyes – each with its own style. Also performing will be Take Note, a top-ranking Barbershop Harmony Society senior quartet; the men's quartet has been the top ranking senior quartet in Illinois for the last eight years.
Tickets cost $15 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors, if purchased prior to the show through a chorus member, and $17 and $12, respectively, if purchased at the door.
