Woodstock library to transform into mini golf course

WOODSTOCK – Residents can visit the Woodstock Public Library this weekend to check out materials, but they also can grab a putter and try to navigate the water hole on the front nine.

The Friends of the Woodstock Public Library on Friday and Saturday will transform the library into an 18-hole miniature golf course, as part of its seventh annual "Mini Links" fundraiser.

Anyone can play the course, which spans the library's three floors and includes a water hole, a trip up the elevator and down the back stairs, library staff said.

The traditional course for all residents opens at 10 a.m. Saturday and ends at 3 p.m. inside the Woodstock library, 414 W. Judd St. Residents may buy $5 tickets for adults and $3 tickets for children age 8 and under at the door.

On Friday, the library will host a special Mini Links event for adults ages 21 years and older, offering hors d'oeuvres and drinks. The $25 tickets must be purchased before the event starts at 7 p.m.

For information on the events, call the library at 815-338-0542 or visit www.woodstockpubliclibrary.org.
