Controlled substance possession
• Edward Cralle, 55, 1610 N. Mason Ave., Chicago, was charged at 7:59 p.m. Jan. 14 with retail theft and unlawful possession of a controlled substance at Jewel-Osco, 9444 S. York Road. Wayne Van De Carr, 34, 7966 W. Barry Ave., Elmwood Park, was charged at the same time and date with retail theft after he allegedly stole eight candy bars from a checkout aisle at the store. Van De Carr also was arrested on a warrant for retail theft from the Chicago Police Department.
• Sebastian Borges, 30, 3712 W. Byron St., Chicago, was charged at 1:36 a.m. Jan. 14 with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license at Spring Hill Suites, 410 W. Lake St.
Motor vehicle theft
A Ford F250 with attached red Western steel plow was reported missing at 8:16 a.m. Jan. 12 from the lot at Honda on Grand, 300 W. Grand Ave. The truck and plow are valued at $6,000. Elmhurst police were later notified by Hodgkins police that the vehicle had been recovered.
DUI
• Jordan Copack, 20, 1304 E. Algonquin Road, Schaumburg, was charged at 2:02 a.m. Jan. 10 with driving under the influence of alcohol, unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, speeding, improper lane use and failure to dim high-beam headlights after a traffic stop at Route 83 and Interstate 290.
• Keith Freeman, 31, 438 Highland Ave., was charged at 2:14 a.m. Jan. 11 with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and illegal transportation of alcohol after a traffic stop at St. Charles Road and Poplar Avenue.
• Santos Lopez, 21, 1021 Ferrari Drive, Bensenville, was charged at 9:45 p.m. Jan. 11 with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, no driver’s license and no insurance after a three-car crash at Lake Street and Grand Avenue. Lopez also was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for resisting from the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.
• Luis A. Perez, 20, 3138 Sandra Ave., Melrose Park, was charged at 5:48 p.m. Jan. 12 with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license at County Line and Grand Avenue.
• Joshua Gutierrez, 23, 13145 Meadow Hill, Lemont, was charged at 3:42 a.m. Jan. 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and leaving the scene of a property damage accident after a rollover crash at Roosevelt Road and Commonwealth Lane.
• Sheila Geoghegan, 52, P.O. Box 205, Hinsdale, was charged at 8:52 p.m. Jan. 14 with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use after a traffic stop at York and Arthur streets.
Theft
• A wallet was reportedly stolen from a shopping cart at 1:47 p.m. Jan. 11 at Mariano’s, 678 N. York St. A woman said she was approached by another woman who was about 35 years old while she was shopping at the store. The unknown woman engaged her in conversation as she walked away from her cart several times, leaving her purse open in the lower compartment. When the woman went to check out, she noticed her wallet was missing.
• Four to five boxes of Charles Ellner champagne, valued at $62 per bottle, were reportedly stolen at 7 a.m. Jan. 12 at Entropy, 918 N. Oaklawn Ave. An employee said the front door was unlocked and no damage was found. Additionally, a security recorder also was missing, and a dolly was found out of place near the rear door.
• Appliances valued at $1,650 were reportedly stolen at 12:27 p.m. Jan. 12 from a home in the 800 block of Mitchell Avenue.
• Sterling bracelets were reportedly stolen at 1:44 p.m. Jan. 12 from a home in the 500 block of North Walnut Street.
• About $500 stolen from a register drawer over the course of several months was reported at 12:21 p.m. Jan. 13 at Elijah’s Specialty Coffee, 111 E. First St.
Marijuana possession
• Jonathan Gonzalez, 32, 7445 W. 64th St., Summit, was charged at 10:03 p.m. Jan. 8 with unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at Interstate 290 and Route 83.
• Aubree Feilen, 18, 520 Elgin Ave.,
Forest Park, was charged at 12:07 a.m. Jan. 10 with unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to a fire alarm at Clarion Hotel, 933 S. Riverside Drive, and allegedly found Feilen and two other individuals smoking marijuana in a hotel room. Lauren Rynne, 18, 2250 N. Sheffield Ave., Chicago, was charged at the same time and date with consumption of alcohol by a minor and false identification at the same location. Andre Emery, 19, 7043 W. East End, Chicago, was charged at the same time and date with possession of alcohol by a minor at the same location.
Protection order violation
A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend violated an order of protection she has against him at 9:19 p.m. Jan. 9.
Property damage
• Two vehicles were reportedly damaged by glass beer bottles at 12:17 p.m. Jan. 11 in the 200 block of East Fremont Avenue. Shards of glass were found on the interior and exterior of the vehicles, and the repair costs were estimated at $1,100 total for both vehicles.
• A light pole was reported down at 12:59 p.m. Jan. 11 in the 200 block of East Fremont Avenue. The city’s public works department reported the estimated cost for the pole is $300.
Traffic violations
• Marino Valdes, 54, 400 W. Division St., Villa Park, was charged at 5:55 p.m. Jan. 9 with operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and no rear registration light at St. Charles Road and Poplar Avenue.
• Narda Dorado-Alfaro, 19, 442 N. Fulton Ave., Villa Park, was charged at 12:23 a.m. Jan. 11 with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and speeding after a traffic stop at North Avenue and Indiana Street.
Lost property
A box containing $500 worth of Nike workout clothing was reported missing at 10:49 a.m. Jan. 9. The box was said to have been lost during a move from Elmhurst to Oak Park on Nov. 18.
