Assault

Michael Ahrens, 34, 181 N. Willow Road, was charged at 7:22 p.m. Jan. 2 with aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle without insurance in the 100 block of South Route 83. Ahrens allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and threatened a person following a traffic stop. He also allegedly was in possession of a glass marijuana smoking pipe.

DUI

Nicholas Palace, 34, 135 Brewster Court, Bloomingdale, was charged at 11:23 p.m. Jan. 3 with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding at York Street and Interstate 290.

Theft

• The cost of a Quadro video card was reportedly refunded but the item never returned at 1:48 p.m. Jan. 2 at Compeve Corporation, 747 N. Church Road. The video card was purchased for $1,450 from the company. The person who purchased the item contacted the company and informed them that the video card was incorrect. The purchase price was refunded by PayPal, but the company reportedly did not receive the video card.

• A white 2005 Ford F-350 was reported stolen at 2:07 p.m. Jan. 4 from the parking lot of the Clarion Hotel, 933 Riverside Drive. The owner of the vehicle said he parked the truck in the lot on Dec. 23, and when he returned from a trip to Florida, he noticed it was missing.

Marijuana possession

• Irving Hernandez, 21, 258 Alpine Drive, Glendale Heights, was charged at 2:22 a.m. Jan. 2 with unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license at North and Addison avenues.

• Alan J. Marrero, 24, 1S159 Dillon Lane, Villa Park, was charged at 4:22 a.m. Jan. 3 with unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 100 block of North Evergreen Avenue.

Underage drinking

Emma Kolodziej, 18, 590 Riley Lane, Lake Zurich; Taylore Schaefges, 18, 21575 W. High Knoll Court, Kildeer; Shelby Peshek, 18, 7 Ferndale Court, Lake Zurich; and Jordan Koszuta, 18, 47 Deer Point Drive, Hawthorn Woods, each were charged at 1:44 a.m. Jan. 3 with possession of a false ID at South Prospect and West Park avenues. Peshek, Koszuta and Schaefges were additionally charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Koszuta also was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, and Schaefges also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Warrant arrest

Roberto T. Salazar, 30, 300 Bohland Ave., Bellwood, was arrested at 7:39 a.m. Jan. 3 on a failure to appear warrant from the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office on charges related to possession of drug paraphernalia in the 200 block of West Fullerton Avenue.

Defacement

White permanent marker scribbled on a city electrical box and a brick wall of the pump station was reported at 10:46 a.m. Jan. 2 in the 300 block of Geneva Avenue.

Traffic violations

• Tachaka Young, 28, 4348 W. Warren Ave., Hillside, was charged at 12:14 a.m. Jan. 3 with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and driving without headlights at York Street and Belden Avenue.

• Autumn McFarland, 36, 231 E. Fremont Ave., was charged at 5:39 p.m. Jan. 3 with aggravated operating a of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and no registration light at York and 3rd streets.

• Georgina Gutierrez, 35, 648 S. York Road, Bensenville, was charged at 7:55 p.m. Jan. 3 with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and expired registration at Schiller Street and Commerce Parkway.

• Armando Infante, 36, 212 Sonny Lane, Bensenville, was charged at 9:20 p.m. Jan. 3 with operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and no rear registration plate light at York Street and Grand Avenue.

• Erick Mejia, 25, 1029 W. Irving Park Road, Bensenville, was charged at 11:47 p.m. Jan. 3 with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and tinted windows at York Street and Crestview Avenue.

• Randall Coleman, 46, 508 Edgewood Road, Lombard, was charged at 1:01 a.m. Jan. 4 with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license at North Avenue and Route 83.

• Jose Acosta, 41, 1872 White St., Des Plaines, was charged at 11:25 p.m. Jan. 4 with aggravated operation of a motor vehicle with a revoked license at Route 83 and North Avenue.

Lost property

An Illinois driver’s license was reported lost at 8:32 p.m. Jan. 2 at the Elmhurst Police Department, 125 E. 1st St.
