Abbey Zacharski, 17, of Sterling, is one of Sterling High School's October Students of the Month. She is the daughter of Brad and Lisa, and she has a sister, Kinsey, 15.
Favorite class: AP literature, because the teacher, Laura Carbaugh, spices up lit and keeps us on our toes.
Favorite teachers: Steve Johnson, AP chemistry, Dana Francis, AP language and composition, Alexis Rivera, AP BC calculus, and Taylor Jackson, AP U.S. History. I enjoyed every minute of their classes.
School activities: Speech team, group interpretation, contest play, band, fall play, spring/summer musical, National Honor Society, football/basketball poms, Young Doctor’s League, WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering)

Do you have a job? Intern at the Sterling Schools Foundation
What will you do after high school? I plan to attend a 4-year university and pursue a degree in pharmacy.

What is the last good book you read? "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini
Who is your hero/role model? Emma Watson, because unlike other young celebrities, she uses her fame to make a difference.
