Crystal Lake teen charged with multiple offenses, police say

CRYSTAL LAKE – A Crystal Lake teenager on Thursday was charged with multiple offenses, including unlawful possession of ammunition without a FOID card, police said.

Nickolas R. Piechocki, 19, was arrested about 7 a.m. after the execution of a search warrant, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.

The search warrant and arrest took place at Piechocki's residence on the 800 block of Nottingham Lane, and no one was injured in the process, the release said.

It further states Piechocki was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal defacement of property, unlawful possession of firearm ammunition without a requisite FOID card, and unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor, all class A misdemeanors.

The 19-year-old also was wanted on an arrest warrant for criminal defacement of property by the McHenry County Sheriff's Department.

Thursday's search warrant was the culmination of an investigation conducted by the Crystal Lake Police, and carried out by members of the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System, in which the department is a participating member.

After being processed, Piechocki was transported to the McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing.

Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues, the release said.
