Salvation Army receives donation from bank

HICKORY HILLS – Standard Bank and Trust Co. recently presented The Salvation Army with a $5,000 donation to support the Ways to Work program.

The WtW program provides low-interest loans, financial education and hope to working families with challenging credit histories, according to a news release from the bank. This program is for people who demonstrated commitment to improving their credit scores, moving up in the workforce and achieving increased self-sufficiency.

“We are very grateful for Standard Bank and Trust’s generous donation and their ongoing volunteer support for our Ways to Work program,” said Stephen Lepse, director of The Salvation Army Family and Community Services, in the release. “With this support, we can continue to assist low- to moderate-income families in their efforts to become financially self-sufficient.”

“We are happy to support The Salvation Army’s Ways to Work program,” said Pat Hunt, Chief Financial Officer. “Championing the success of our communities is a cornerstone of our organization.”
