Barbara J. Meyer

AMBOY – Barbara J. Meyer, 73, of Amboy, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, in Amboy.

She was born July 26, 1941, in Joliet, the daughter of Robert and Harriet (Beebe) Alexander. Barbara married Arthur "Bud" Meyer on June 21, 1965, in Joliet. He preceded her in death. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Robert Meyer of Rockdale, Charles Meyer of Snowflake, Arizona, and Gregory Meyer of Mesa, Arizona; one daughter-in-law, Shirley (Don) Donoho of Amboy; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Kelly of Mesa, Arizona; six brothers, Robert (Jackie) Alexander of Arlington, Virginia, Jack (Stevie) Alexander of Crest Hill, Donald Alexander of Wilmington, Billy (Lois) Alexander of Minooka, Chuck (Pam) Alexander of Chandler, Arizona, and John (Pam) Alexander of Romeoville.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Dale Etheridge; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Cast;  and two sisters, Eunice Loomis and Thelma Grzincic.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center.
