DEWITT, Iowa — Julie K. McDougald, 55, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, after a brief stay at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
She was born July 29, 1949, in Kewanee to Charles and Bernice (Franck) Hasbrook.
She was a 1967 graduate of Annawan High School. She was employed for years at Metropolitan Life Insurance of Illinois. In her later years she worked as a nurses aide in Illinois and Iowa nursing homes.
Surviving are two daughters, Monica (Chris) Grell of Wheatland, Iowa, and Meagan Spain of Paris, Texas; one son, Matthew Holtsclaw; three sisters Jill (Lynn) Van Acker of Princeton, Joyce (Larry) Sheldon of Princeton and Jayne Horton (John Scrimshur) of Wyanet; two brothers, Jerry (Karen) Hasbrook of Marietta, Ga., and Joseph (Maureen) Hasbrook of Sheffield; nine grandchildren, Cassidy, William and Charles of Indiana, Treasure, Chayse, Kennedy and True of Wheatland, Iowa, and Devon and Alexandra of Paris, Texas; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John.
Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial gathering was held on the farm where she and her siblings were raised.
