CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – James E. Otto of Chillicothe died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at his home. He worked for 34 years for F.W. Woolworth Co. at several locations, retiring in 1996.
He was born March 27, 1934, in Dixon, to Harry and Alice (Beede) Otto. He served in the Army from 1957 to 1958. He married Charlotte Yurick on Oct. 4, 1958, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Steven Otto of Chillicothe, Ohio; one daughter, Connie (Gary) Calabrese of Elyria, Ohio; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Alice Bowers of Ashton and Olive Bernardin of Rochelle; one brother, Richard Otto of Eldena; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Otto; one sister, Frances Pitzer; and three brothers-in-law, Dale Boers, George Pitzer, and Everett Bernardin.
There will be no services. Cremation rites will be accorded. Haller Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Ohio, is handling arrangements.
