Area students honored in college

University of Iowa’s dean’s list announced

Amy Matteson and Natalie Polson, both natives of Morris, have been named to the University of Iowa’s dean’s list for the 2014 spring semester.

About 3,800 students were named to the dean’s list for the 2014 spring semester.

Area students graduate from Elmhurst College

More than 600 students were awarded bachelor of arts, bachelor of fine arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music or bachelor of liberal studies degrees at the ceremony May 31.

The following is a list of area graduates: Cathy Ballenger of Braceville, master of science in nursing; and Ryan Hopkins of Seneca, bachelor of science in information technology.

Alyssa Chatten receives degree from SMU

Alyssa Chatten, a resident of Morris, received a bachelor of science in electrical engineering, and mathematics during the Southern Methodist University’s commencement ceremony in May.

Bradley University

graduates receive degrees

The following students received degrees from Bradley University during commencement ceremonies May 17: Justin Darin Anderson of Morris, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering; and Kelly Ann Sisk of Morris, bachelor of science in nursing.

University of Evansville hosts commencement

The University of Evansville is proud to announce that multiple local students graduated during UE’s 156th commencement May 10 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. During the ceremony, the university awarded 583 degrees to 568 graduates, including local graduate Jennifer Murphy of Wilmington.

North Central College hosts commencement

North Central College celebrated its 149th commencement June 14 by conferring degrees on 815 students. Of those students, 704 received bachelor degrees and 111 earned master degrees.

The following students from the area received bachelor degrees: Nicole Novy of Braidwood, James Michalik, Sean Rakidzic and Daniel Vogrin of Channahon; Cameron Anderson and Kyle Cahill of Dwight; Warren Dailey, Julie Farkas and Sean Schuch of Minooka; Alexandria Dibble, Yana Engel, Thomas Finnegan, Rachel Jewett, Jessica Mack, Nicholas Phillips and Benjamin Ryan of Morris; and Nicole Boeger of Newark.
