ROCK FALLS – William J. Wesolowski, 64, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
He was born Feb. 28, 1950, in Blue Island, a son of Frank and Elfreida (Hollwedel) Wesolowski. He was united in marriage to Carolann Donnelly on Oct. 12, 1991, in Midlothian.
Bill and his wife, Carolann owned and operated the Edge Restaurant and Lounge in Midlothian for 18 years. He was known fondly as “Catfish Bill” to his friends and family, and was an avid fisherman. He also was known for making his own homemade sausage, and loved to cook and work in his garden. Bill wrote articles for Midwest Outdoor Magazine and did filming for them on the Rock River.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Carolann of Rock Falls; his children, Sheri (Dan) Liberatore of Peotone, William Wesolowski Jr. of Englewood, Florida, and Kelly Varma of Portland, Oregon; his stepchildren, Chris Tucker of Englewood, Florida, and Susan Tucker of Bourbonnais; two sisters and four brothers, not of the area; his grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, and Danielle Liberatore, Chaz and Ryan Wesolowski, and Robert, Stephanie, Erin, and Rachael Lobaugh; and his great-grandchildren, Leah, Mya, Bryson, and Lacie Lobaugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rock River Christian Center in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Brian Vickers officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
