LAKEMOOR - A Lakemoor police officer was transported to the hospital Monday morning after his vehicle was struck while responding to a domestic violence call.
Around 8:15 a.m., the officer was responding to a call 110 Rand Rd. in Lakemoor when a vehicle hit the his police SUV, according to McHenry Township Fire Battalion Chief Mike Majercik. A pickup truck and and Chevy Tahoe were invoked in the accident, but it was unclear which struck the police vehicle.
A call to the Lakemoor Police Department was not immediately returned Monday morning.
The officer was transported to Centegra Hospital-McHenry with non-life threatening injuries. None of the other drivers or passengers were injured.
The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash, Majercik said.
