Paul Parpet named new Lisle football coach

LISLE – The search for Lisle High School’s new football coach has ended.

Paul Parpet officially was approved by the School Board at its March 17 meeting to take over for Dan Sanko, who stepped down after 17 seasons as the head coach.

“He brings a world of experience and expertise to our football program,” Lisle athletic director Dan Dillard said in a statement. “He is described by everyone as a coach that students love to play for and enjoy being around ... and I am excited about the impact he can have on our program.

“We are very excited to have coach Parpet joining our coaching staff.”

Parpet spent 28 years as the head coach of Addison Trail High School’s football team, where he compiled a 158-122 record. He guided the Blazers to state runner-up finishes in 1983 and 1997. He also was the varsity baseball coach at AT from 1990 to 2010 and, since retiring from teaching full-time, has been an assistant football coach at Downers Grove North and assistant baseball coach at Downers Grove South.

Parpet is a member of the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association and Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Halls of Fame.
