Meet Tony Rinehart of Waconda's Invested In Fitness

Personal trainer Tony Rinehart is owner of Wauconda’s newest fitness center, Invested In Fitness, at 1210 Karl Court. The gym opened its doors Jan. 12. Rinehart, of Buffalo Grove, spoke with Lake County Suburban Life intern Kyle Stephans about the new business and his dedication to helping others meet their fitness goals.

Stephans: What makes your approach to fitness different than other gyms?

Rinehart: A lot of times gyms only have people come in and do a workout and that’s it. At Invested In Fitness people come in and we help them in all aspects inside and outside of the gym. We work on guiding people to know what to do, whether it is in how they live, eat, exercise and other things. I try to stress to people that fitness is just not exercise, it’s knowing how to lift right, how to exercise properly. So, we help people in more areas inside and outside of the gym.

Stephans: What types of
classes does your gym offer?

Rinehart: The way are classes and training style is mostly functional based. Our classes include workouts such as Olympic lifting, band training, kettle bells, battle ropes, plyometrics, stretching and mobility, rotational barbell training and spin (coming soon). We also offer introductory classes for beginners.

Stephans: What age demographics does Invested In Fitness serve?

Rinehart: The youngest ages I have seen here are 9-to-10-year-olds who are in cheerleading. However, we get 18-to-65-year-olds pretty often, but Invested In Fitness is adaptable to any person at any age.

Stephans: What types of workout rooms do you have?

Rinehart: We have large studio classes that are 2,600-square-feet with all types of machines and free weights. We also have 2,000-square-foot classes for multiple people and one-on-one training.

Stephans: Why is strength training important?

Rinehart: Just a few of the benefits strength training will be weight loss, hypertrophy, body composition alteration, sustainability, increased blood circulation, increased flexibility and increased self-esteem.
