WATERMAN – A motion to reduce the bond of an 18-year-old Lee man charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl last month in DeKalb County’s rural Waterman was filed Tuesday.
Justin D. Swanson, of the 1300 block of Woodlawn Road, was charged Monday with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of unlawful restraint.
Bond is set at $300,000. The motion to reduce bond will be addressed in DeKalb County Court on Thursday.
Court records show that on Nov. 11, Swanson sexually assaulted the victim by performing sex acts while punching the back of her head and neck area twice and slapping her in the face twice.
If convicted of the most serious charge, he would be sentenced to between 6 and 30 years in prison; probation would not be an option. Swanson would be required to register as a sex offender for life. He is not allowed to contact the victim while charges are pending.
