BOLINGBROOK – Police believe a Bolingbrook man doing time for setting fire to his mother's garage in May 2012 allegedly tried to hire someone to murder her while he was in prison serving a three-year sentence, according to media reports.
Scott A. Rokita, 42, formerly of the 500 block of Sharon Way, now faces felony solicitation of murder for hire and solicitation of murder charges, according to reports.
Rokita had been serving his sentence at the Vandalia Correctional Center after he pleaded guilty to felony criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor protection order violation charge in connection to the May 2012 incident, reports said.
The new charges were filed Nov. 12, and Rokita was transferred to the Will County jail two days later, according to reports.
