MORRIS – Grundy County State’s Attorney Jason Helland recently released the following felony dispositions. The State’s Attorney’s Office makes no representation as to the accuracy of such information. In all cases, the official records of the court clerk should be consulted for confirmation.
• Nathan Benavidez, 29, of Princeton, pleaded guilty to the unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 2 felony, and was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Benavidez was ordered to pay a mandatory $1,000 drug assessment and a $100 Illinois State Police lab fee.
• Cristina Fonseca, 25, of Eureka, Calif., pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of more than 30 but less than 500 grams of cannabis with the intent to deliver, a Class 3 felony, and was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Fonseca will serve one year of mandatory supervised release upon completion of the prison sentence. Fonseca paid a mandatory $500 drug assessment and a $2,500 fine.
• Carlos Gonzalez, 18, of Morris, pleaded guilty to residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a boot camp recommendation. Gonzalez was ordered to pay court costs of $227 and a $250 DNA fee.
• Andrew Kendall, 25, of Diamond, pleaded guilty to residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and burglary, a Class 2 felony. Kendall was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with credit for 534 days served. Kendall was ordered to pay court costs of $227 and will serve two years of mandatory supervised release upon completion of the prison sentence.
• Timothy McKanna, 55, of Orland Hills, pleaded guilty to burglary, a Class 2 felony, and was sentenced to four years of probation. McKanna was assessed court costs of $227 and ordered to pay $20 a month for probation fees.
• Tyler Newcomb-Bohannan, 20, of Carbon Hill, pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, and was sentenced to 154 days in jail and four years of probation. Newcomb-Bohannan was assessed a $200 sexual assault fine and ordered to pay a $250 DNA fee. Newcomb-Bohannan is also required to register as a sex offender.
• Bridget Price, 22, of Shorewood, pleaded guilty to theft of less than $500 from a person, a Class 3 felony, and was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The judgment was deferred pending successful completion of drug court.
• Jacob Roach, 28, of Cornell, pleaded guilty to robbery, a Class 2 felony, and was sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
• Michael Ryle, 21, of Diamond, pleaded guilty to burglary, a Class 2 felony, and was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The judgment was deferred pending successful completion of drug court.
• Danielle Hite, 33, of Willow Springs, pleaded guilty to deceptive practice, a Class 4 felony, and was placed on probation for 30 months. Hite was ordered to serve 180 days in county jail and pay restitution of $618.
• Daniel Kocielko, 32, of Minooka, pleaded guilty to delivery of more than 30 grams but less than 500 grams of cannabis, a Class 3 felony, and was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a boot camp recommendation. Kocielko was ordered to pay a $500 mandatory drug assessment and court costs of $227.
• Christopher Scheibe, 31, of Morris, pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, and was placed on 24 months probation and ordered to serve 58 days in the county jail. Scheibe must submit to periodic drug testing and to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow the treatment recommendations. Scheibe was also ordered to pay a $500 mandatory drug assessment and pay a $100 Illinois State Police lab fee.
• Eric Spurgeon, 27, of Coal City, pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, and was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Spurgeon will serve one year of mandatory supervised release upon completion of the prison sentence and will pay a mandatory $500 drug assessment and a $100 Illinois State Police lab fee.
• Elda Villareal, 37, of Morris, pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, and was sentenced to 18 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections with the judgment deferred pending the successful completion of the drug court program. Villareal was ordered to pay a mandatory $500 drug assessment and a $100 Illinois State Police lab fee.
