SANDWICH – A man was killed Thursday evening after a lawn mower he was working on fell on him, DeKalb County Sheriff’s police said Friday.

Jamie L. Ii, 37, of Sandwich, was working on a large commercial mower at a site in the 3300 block of East Sandwich Road, north of Sandwich.

He was last seen at 5 p.m., and found beneath the machine about 9:30 p.m., Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Gary Dumdie said.

"He was apparently working by himself at the end of the day underneath the mower and it was up on jack stands and somehow the jack stands became dislodged and the mower fell on him," Dumdie said.
Ii was working for Hanson Landscaping of Big Rock at the time, Dumdie said. Police do not suspect foul play, he said.
