Possession of cannabis with intent to deliver
Ameer Abu-Assaf, 18, of the 3700 block of Oak Park Avenue, Berwyn, was charged with possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license when police stopped him in the 9100 block of Brookfield Avenue after a caller reported that he was throwing fireworks out of his moving vehicle. After stopping him, police found plastic bags filled with cannabis in Abu-Assaf’s vehicle.

Andrew E. Smith, 19, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:42 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 3800 block of Madison Avenue.
Passenger punches
woman at gas station
A caller at a gas station at Ogden and Prairie avenues reported that he saw a passenger punch a woman driver in the face. When the caller asked the woman if she was OK, she said, “Fine, and it is none of your business,” before the car drove away. The incident occurred at 8:03 p.m. July 30.
Neighbor angry
over bird poop
A resident of the 3500 block of Park Avenue yelled and screamed at two of his neighbors at about 12:46 p.m. July 30, and told them to cut down their mulberry tree because birds have been eating the mulberries and defecating in his lawn.

Graffiti was found on the north and east doors of the concession stand at Ehlert Park at 8:16 a.m. July 29.
LYONS
DUI
Michael D. Johnson, 35, of the 2600 block of West Maypole Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being pulled over for swerving between lanes at Harlem Avenue and 47th Street at 3:59 a.m. Aug. 4.
Tenant hits landlord

Ljupco Dzurovski, 28, of the 800 block of Ninth Avenue, La Grange, was charged with battery after admitting to hitting his landlord on the head with a shovel at 7:26 p.m. July 27 in the 7300 block of Oakwood Avenue. The landlord was investigating loud music coming from Dzurovski’s apartment.
BB gun used
to damage car
Three windows of a vehicle parked in the 7900 block of 46th Street were shot out by a BB gun between 5:15 and 9:15 a.m. July 31. There also were BB gun marks found on the body of the vehicle.
Air conditioner
disconnected
An air conditioner at an apartment in the 8000 block of Riverwalk Drive had its interior coil stolen and was missing its copper lines, a resident reported at 5:35 p.m. Aug. 3.
RIVERSIDE
Criminal sex abuse
Joshua P. Sengstock, 18, of Brookfield, was charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal sexual abuse after having sex with a 15-year-old with whom he has a relationship. He was arrested at 8:35 p.m. July 30.
DUI
Juan Ramon Martinez, 52, of Summit, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled him over for swerving across lanes at Harlem Avenue and Joliet Road at 2:37 a.m. July 31. Martinez’s blood alcohol concentration was measured at .115.
Theft from garage sale
A resident hosting a garage sale in the 300 block of Kent Road said that a woman stole an envelope with $225 from the pouch she was wearing around her waist. The incident occurred at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
Trespassing
Saul Alvarado, 18, of Riverside, was arrested for trespassing at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Quincy Road after being told previously by the property owner that he was not allowed there because he didn’t pay his rent for several months. The incident occurred at 7:55 p.m. Aug. 1.
Catalytic converters stolen
• A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle in the 3100 block of Harlem Avenue in the afternoon July 27.
• A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked outside the MacNeal Professional Building between 2:10 and 3:20 p.m. July 30.
Residential burglary
Someone broke into a residence in the 600 block of Selborne Road late July 29 or early July 30 and went through jewelry drawers, leaving the jewelry in the bedroom. The person broke in by using a screwdriver to enter through a basement door.
