A Boy Scout leader from Glen Ellyn has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor during a scout trip to Camp Freeland Leslie in Wisconsin, according to law enforcement officials.
Jeffrey L. Borneman, 54, of the 22W000 block of Stratford Court in unincorporated DuPage County near Glen Ellyn, was charged with second degree sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age, Marquette County District Attorney Chad Hendee said.
The incident allegedly occurred July 5 and charges were filed against Borneman July 17, Hendee said.
Borneman was released after posting a $5,000 cash bond July 18, according to court records. The conditions of his release do not allow contact with the alleged victim or unsupervised contact with any minor younger than 16 years, records show.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sept. 6.
