CLARENDON HILLS — Sheriff John E. Zaruba announced Friday the arrest of three men who allegedly robbed a juvenile victim in unincorporated Clarendon Hills late Thursday afternoon.

Kelechukwu Akuba of the 300 block of Daisy Circle, Romeoville; Leverenzel Booth of the 7500 block of Farmingdale Drive, Darien; and Jerron Wilbut of the 16w600 block of Mockingbird Lane, Willowbrook have each been charged with one count of robbery, a Class 2 felony.

About 4 p.m. Thursday, the juvenile victim had made plans to meet with the three men, who are acquaintances, in unincorporated Clarendon Hills. Police said Akuba, Booth and Wilbut, with intentions of robbing the juvenile, let the victim into the vehicle and displayed what was believed to be handgun, robbed him of his money and property, then released him and fled the scene.

After a short investigation by sheriff’s detectives, the three suspects and property were located and taken into custody.
