A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a car Monday afternoon while crossing southbound on Geneva Road in Wheaton, according to a Wheaton Police Department news release.
Barbara Jean Meagher, 52, of Carol Stream was crossing from the south entrance/exit of Home Depot when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle driving in the curb lane, according to the release.
Wheaton police responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle 3:30 p.m. Monday at 310 E. Geneva Road.
Meagher suffered serious injuries and was transported by the Wheaton Fire Department to Central DuPage Hospital. She then was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she remains in critical condition.
The accident is under investigation by the police department’s Traffic Unit.
