Popular blues duo coming to town

FRANKLIN GROVE – Fans of the popular Fifth Friday Music Shows at the historic H.I. Lincoln Building are in for a special treat on Nov. 30: Musical host Jack Kelley will welcome a special appearance by noted bluesmen Ted Lawrence and Chuck Scordato.

Ted and Chuck, performing as The Saltines, are known throughout the region by music fans and recognized by fellow bluesmen from Chicago to Memphis.

Based on previous sold-out engagements, the two are consistent favorites with music fans who congregate at the Lincoln whenever the calendar favors them a month containing a Fifth Friday.

Chuck’s mastery of the electric guitar and vocals that really “feel the blues” are an excellent counterpoint to Ted’s virtuosity on the harmonica. While a harmonica is just a small, light musical instrument, the way Ted throws himself into his music requires a physical training regimen like an Olympic athlete.

Show times are 7 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the Lincoln from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, or call 815-456-3030. Seating is limited, so tickets may not be available at the door.
