ENGAGEMENT: Boyd-Kelly

Kara Boyd and James Kelly, both residing in New York City, will unite in marriage Sept. 15, 2012 at Battery Gardens in Manhattan.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mrs. Marsha Boyd and the late William Boyd of Coal City. The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly of Long Island, New York.

Kara is a 1998 graduate of Coal City High School, a graduate of Arizona State University and she also received an advanced degree from New York University. Kara is employed by the New York City Department of Education.

The future groom attended high school in Long Island, N.Y. and graduated from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. James is a business owner in the city of New York.

In the fall, the mother-of-the bride will host a dinner for the couple in the local area.
