SPRINGFIELD – The West Carroll FFA Chapter received numerous awards during the Illinois State FFA Convention in Springfield in June.

West Carroll had 24 members in attendance. The theme of this year’s convention was “Miles of Opportunity.”

The chapter was recognized as being a $3,000 FFA Foundation sponsor. Kimberly Durward was recognized for winning the state Forage Production Proficiency Award.

West Carroll also was awarded top chapter in Section 1 for its chapter development portion of the program of activities for Section 1 FFA.

Members attending the convention were Durward, Patrick Fritz, Trelawney Baisden, Clare O’Connor, Kita Stallings, Chloe Carson, Garrett Badtke, Dylan Williams, Jordan Barr, Ieshia Larson, Jacob Ritchie, Jillian Miller, Elaynie Shepherd, Demi Hess, Janelle Dykstra, Rachel Dykstra, Christy Ralston, Jared Root, Samantha Boyer, Kristen Houzenga, Katessa Sibley, Paige Wilkins, Breanna Brashaw and Ashley Hunt.

Stallings, Baisden and O’Connor played in the Illinois State FFA Band. Boyer and Larson served as voting delegates.
