Ebel wedding

Albert Q. Ebel III of Kingston and Lindakay Houghton-Bowen of Lake Tomahawk, Wis. were married on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Kingston United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kelli R. Beard officiated.

Tony Conro of Kingston walked the bride down the aisle. Rob Ebel of Genoa, the groom's son, served as best man, and Pamela Houghton-Wallace of Loves Park, the bride's daughter, was matron of honor.

Groomsman was Greg Ebel of Neenah, Wis., son of the groom. Bridesmaid was Carla Walter of Rockford, sister of the groom. Alissa Ebel, the groom's granddaughter, was the flower girl and his grandson Matthew Murphy was the ring bearer.

Ushers were Quinten Ebel, grandson of the groom, and Max Abel, friend of the couple. Dorene Reimer of Leoti, Kan., sister of the groom, was the Scripture reader. MaryEllen Mahoney-Spencer of Rockford was the violist and pianist. The bride and groom served communion to their guests.

The reception was held at the Kingston United Methodist Church. The ladies of the church made and served a meal for the couple's relatives and friends. Brenda Witte of Caledonia, niece of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake.

The groom is the son of Elwanda and Albert Q. Ebel II of DeKalb and the bride is the daughter of the late John W. and Faith E. Kerchner of Rockford, formerly of Monroe Center.

The groom's cousin Callie Ebel of Union registered wedding guests from Kingston, Genoa, DeKalb, Rockford, Loves Park, Union, Algonquin, Cambridge, Oak Park, Biggsville, Carpentersville, Elgin, Caledonia, Roscoe, Gilberts, Neenah and Leoti.

The couple will reside in rural Kingston and Lake Tomahawk, Wis. The couple operates Ebel Grain Farms.

The Ebels will take several trips over the summer. They will attend the 2012 reunion of the USS Iowa BB-61, the ship Albert's father served on in World War II, which is being brought to San Pedro, Calif. They will also travel to Arkansas and take a trip to Galena, a wedding gift from family.
