OTTAWA — The Illinois Department of Transportation is announcing changes to the rules for the Business Logo Signing program. These changes may allow for additional businesses that provide the motorist services of gas, food, or lodging to display logo signs along interstate highways.
There may now be up to 12 logo signs for a particular motorist service type displayed on two separate blue boards in advance of some interchanges, if space is available for the additional sign. However, there may only be a maximum of 4 blue boards and 24 logo signs displayed for all motorist service types in advance of any particular interchange.
To be considered for this program, gas, food or lodging businesses must be within three miles of an interchange where the business is located.
