WALNUT – Marcia Glaser, 73, of Walnut, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Colonial Hall Rehabilitation Center in Princeton. She started teaching in 1961 at Walnut High School, retiring in 1993.

Marcia was born Oct. 28, 1938, in Galva, the daughter of Clarence and Edith (Nelson) Swanson. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Glaser on Aug. 11, 1983, in Iowa City, Iowa. Marcia is survived by her husband; five children, Mary (Andrew) Spear of Dallas, Deborah (Tom) Quinn of Walnut, Robert A. (Cindy) Glaser of Scottsdale, Ariz., Carol J. Glaser of Katy, Texas, and Christine (Mike) Cummings of Houston; her sister, Bea Morehead of Carrollton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Norbom; and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Thursday at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with the Rev. Ronald Eckberg, friend of the family, officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Cemetery.
