Face Time with Robert L. Gorecki

St. Charles resident Robert L. Gorecki was at the St. Charles Post Office when he answered 10 questions from the Kane County Chronicle's Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? In St. Charles all my life except for one year, when I lived on a farm in Yorkville.

Pets? The dog and the kitty passed away.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Robert De Niro.

First job? Waiting tables for 15 cents an hour in Attig's Cafe where George's Sport Center is now.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up? At one time I wanted to be either a state trooper or a conservation officer. I became an attorney after the service.

A book you'd recommend? "Thunderstruck" by Erik Larson who also wrote "The Devil in the White City."

Favorite charity?
TLC's Pregnancy Services in Elgin, I'm on their advisory board.

Hobbies? Golf. I used to like tennis, but I'm getting too old for that.

Favorite local restaurant? Panera in St. Charles.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself?
I'm the oldest practicing attorney in St. Charles, I've been practicing for 55 years, and I am the father of Meg Gorecki, the only woman state's attorney in Kane County.
