LOCAL BRIEFS: Sycamore announces newest athletic Hall of Fame class

Sycamore announced the newest inductees into its athletic Hall of Fame. The newest members include: Elmer Troutman, Justin Wilson, Dean Copple and the 1960 football team.

The 1960 team won the Little Seven Conference with an 8-0 record. Dave Thomas (tackle), Dave Cudden (quarterback) and John Moyers (guard) were all-state players and the Spartans outscored their opponents, 172-56.

Troutman, a 1956 graduate, was a lineman for the football team that helped propel the Spartans to their first Little Seven Conference championship and first undefeated season.

Wilson became Sycamore's all-time leading scorer in boys basketball and was a three-time all-conference performer.

Copple was the driving force behind the current Sycamore sports boosters. Because of Copple's efforts, every sport at Sycamore receives money from the sports boosters.

The induction ceremony is Oct. 15. Tickets will be available in the Sycamore athletic office.
