MOUNT MORRIS – Viola Mae Lundquist, 87, of Mount Morris, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at KSB Hospital, Dixon.

She was born March 20, 1924, near Sterling, the daughter of Ora and Bertha (Jacobs) Scykes. Viola married Clyde H. Lundquist on April 20, 1941, at Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Morris, and loved sewing, gardening, and sharing time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of Franklin Grove; four children, Leroy (Mary) Lundquist of Oregon, Marvin (Cheryl) Lundquist and Barbara (Brad) Trei, both of Mount Morris, and Diane (Cliff) Ethridge of Rockford; one sister, Lavonna Ufkin, of Mount Morris; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Edward Scykes.

There will be no visitation. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, with the Rev. Steven Ericson, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements were completed by Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Oregon.

A memorial fund has been established.
