ST. CHARLES – Norm MacDonald, soap opera stars and Steve-O from the TV show "Jackass" are among the upcoming acts scheduled to appear at Zanies Comedy Club at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles.
Walt Willey, who portrays Jackson Montgomery on "All My Children," will join the Midnight Swinger on shows this weekend, ahead of next week's music performance by Port Chuck, a group of actors from the soap opera "General Hospital."
Zanies spokesman Rick Gieser said the packed upcoming Zanies schedule will have something for fans of all kinds.
He added that Willey has performed during the month of August for years at Zanies.
"He's a Zanies favorite," Gieser said. "The crowds love him. He does comedy, and he is funny. And the crowd really gets to see a different perspective. If they come to see the character of Jackson Montgomery, they'll see a different aspect of his personality."
Steve-O will be bringing his "Entirely Too Much Information Tour" to St. Charles during Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-3. He is best known for his stunts in the "Jackass" shows and movies.
"He brings a lot of energy," Gieser said. "He's funny, and he takes questions. Plus, he does a few stunts. It's just an all-around extravaganza. Comedy is the main thing. It's interactive. That's going to be a really good show."
Norm MacDonald arrives Nov. 18-19. Perhaps best known for his work on "Saturday Night Live," MacDonald also has been in quite a few movies, including "Billy Madison" and "The People vs. Larry Flint." In addition, he has enjoyed a career in standup comedy.
"The crowd loves him," Gieser said. "He's been to Zanies a lot. We love having him back."
Among other upcoming highlights:
• Larry Reeb appears Wednesday-Aug. 27.
• A meet-and-greet event with Dominic Zamprogna of "General Hospital" is set for Oct. 15.
• Frank Santorelli, who portrayed Georgie the Bartender on "The Sopranos," is in town Nov. 30-Dec. 3.
