Steven N. Krug

DOWNERS GROVE – Steven N. Krug passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, at the age of 53. He was an underwriter at Allianz Insurance Co., downtown Chicago, for 30 years.

He was born March 9, 1958, in Rochelle, to Norman and Donna Krug. He graduated in 1976 from Ashton High School and in 1980 from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. Steve married Kathy Lewis on July 15, 1979, in Downers Grove.

Their son, Shawn Steven Krug, was born Aug. 21, 1990, in Downers Grove.

Steve was a faithful Christian, and served his family, church and community well. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan, and enjoyed attending many games with Shawn.

Steve is survived by his wife Kathy, and their son, Shawn Krug, both of Downers Grove; his father, Norman (Joan) Krug of Dixon; sisters, Barbara (Robert) Judd of Moscow Mills, Mo., and Joanne Krug of Algonquin; brothers, Kenneth (Ivy) Krug of Elmhurst and David (Michelle) McPherson of Bloomington; brother-in-law, John “Wes” (Colleen) Lewis of Gilbert; and several nieces and nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Donna McPherson; and his stepfather, Gene McPherson.

Visitation was Aug. 2 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Downers Grove.

The funeral was Aug. 3 at First Christian Church of Downers Grove. Interment was at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien.
