Face time with Sara Kanak

St. Charles resident Sara Kanak, 20, was at her parents' garage sale when she answered 10 questions from the Kane County Chronicle's Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up?
St. Charles.

Pets? A cat named Fluffy.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Anybody who is sarcastic like I am.

First job? I cut fabric at Jo-Ann Fabrics.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? What I wanted to be was a dolphin trainer, but that's not what I really want to do. Now I'm going to Elgin Community College, and I'm thinking about being a corporate flight attendant.

A book you'd recommend?
"Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey" by Chuck Palahniuk.

Favorite charity? All the charities that focus on ocean life, like Greenpeace.

Hobbies? I read and spend time outdoors.

Favorite local restaurant? Pizzeria Neo in St. Charles – that's where i work. I host and serve there.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself?
I swam with dolphins once about three years ago in Florida for about half an hour. The dolphins told me they enjoyed me, and I was one with the dolphins. I knew they liked me because they were smiling and they made the noise.
