Where did you grow up? Leawood, Kan., a suburb of Kansas City.
Who would play you in the movie of your life? Brad Pitt.
First job? Mowing the grass and spray-painting house numbers on curbs.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Professional baseball player or a cartoonist. I became neither. I became an electrical engineer.
A book you'd recommend? The entire Gunslinger series from Stephen King and "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand.
Favorite charity? Northern Illinois Food Bank.
Hobbies? Playing with my kids. I used to play golf.
What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I learned to surf when we lived in San Francisco, and I was never very good.
