Face time with Ernie Frantz

Ernie Frantz, 41, of Aurora, was drawing caricature portraits at Oktoberfest in Batavia when Kane County Chronicle reporter Brenda Schory asked him 10 questions.


Where did you grow up?
In Batavia.

Who would play you in the movie of your life?
Me because I'm an actor. I had a bit role in "Hoffa" with Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito for two weeks in 1992. I've done extra work and acted in "Back Against the Wall" where I play a schizophrenic meth addict named Ed.

Favorite fictional character? Roger Rabbit.

First job? Doing commercial art work for my dad's business. I've always been an artist.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up? I wanted to be the next Walt Disney, and in my own independent way, yes I did.

What was your best Halloween costume? I was Popeye.

Best car?
A 1991 Mazda 626.

Favorite charity? Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Hobbies?
Going to the movies and making people laugh.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I was a world champion power lifter from 1983 to 1987 in three divisions, the men's, teenage and open divisions. And then in 1989, I went to Italy.
