ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Gary Monnier, 52, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Dixon, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010, at his home. He was a truck driver.

Gary was born Aug. 4, 1957, in Sterling. He enjoyed visiting with family, fishing, and watching basketball. His favorite team was the Phoenix Suns.

Gary is survived by his mother, Betty (Don) Cox of Phoenix; his son, Nathan Monnier of Eugene, Ore.; his special friend, Rhonda Foresee of Albuquerque, N.M.; four brothers, Ed (Jen) Monnier of Dixon, Mike (Connie) Monnier of Rock Falls, Pete Monnier of Iowa, and Bill Cox of New Hampshire; and four sisters, Linda (Randy) Lyman of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Julie (John) Smith of DeWitt, Iowa, Sally (Bill) Montavon of Dixon, and Donna (Marty) Reger of Phoenix.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Monnier; and one brother, Jay Monnier.

Private graveside service will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Local arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
