MOUNT MORRIS – Harry M. Stahl, 76, lifetime Mount Morris resident, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Swedish- American Hospital, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Harry was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Dixon, the son of Michael and Amelia (Vollweiter) Stahl. Harry married Dorothy Kielsmeier on Aug. 18, 1958, in Dixon.
He worked as a forklift automotive small engine mechanic at Quebecor Printing, Mount Morris, retiring in 1995. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, David Stahl of Florida and Dan (Cheryl) Stahl of Forreston; two daughters, Ruth Cross of Florida and Rhonda Bachman of Janesville, Wis.; four grandchildren, Danielle Stahl, Warren Stahl, Leah Sabaduquia, and Shawna May Stahl; one great-grandchild, Reed Kemp; two sisters, Bertha Jacobs of Sterling and Lucille Beard of Dixon; and many nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rienhardt and Walter; and three sisters, Elsie, Irene, and Harriet.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt St., Mount Morris, with the Rev. Larry Jameson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Mount Morris.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Swedish- American Hospital Critical Care Unit, Rockford.
