STERLING – Robert J. “Bob” Woessner, 53, of Sterling, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at University of Wisconsin Hospital after a short illness. He was a State Farm Insurance agent in Sterling for 17 years.
Mr. Woessner was born Oct. 9, 1956, in Freeport, the son of William and Lois (Hummermeier) Woessner. He married Julie Wasmund on June 11, 1988, in Coleta. He was a member of Coleta United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brock and Zachary Woessner at home; his stepfather, Richard Dambman of Milledgeville; two brothers, David (Valerie Newman) Woessner of Trumbull, Conn., and Curt (Shelly) Dambman of Milledgeville; his father- and mother-in-law, Bob and Claudia Wasmund of Coleta; sister-in-law, Joanie (Kenyon) Whipple of Rock Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Coleta United Methodist Church with David Jungnickel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Brethren Cemetery, Shannon. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
