Senior Allison Fassler is a Sterling High School March student of the month. She is the daughter of Tim and Cheryl Fassler, and has a younger brother, Michael, 15, all of Sterling.
Favorite class: Advanced placement biology. It prepares me for college, and it's hands-on.
Top teacher: Steve Johnson for chemistry. If I need help, he'll explain it, and if I'm still confused, he'll take a different approach and he'll stay until you understand it.
Extracurricular: Swimming, National Honor Society, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Science Club and the Sterling Stingrays Swim Club.
After graduation: I will attend Iowa State University and study biology or kinesiology.
Paycheck: I used to work at Arthur's Garden Deli in Sterling, and I will work this summer as Stingrays coach.
Hearts: John Mayer, Julia Roberts, "Ten Things I Hate About You," "What Not to Wear," sewing and spaghetti.
Darts: Losing a loved one, AP biology, and when people cut yards and don't do the whole workout during swim practice.
Haunts: Swim meets at Lawrence Park.
Survival guide: Take all of your classes seriously and get involved.
Useless knowledge: Proofs in geometry.
Personal trivia: I have a good memory.
Dream job: Being a pilot.
Trading places: I'd like to be U.S. Olympic swimmer Dana Torres. I would want to know what it's like to be that fast.
Trading spaces: I'd like to visit Germany and Switzerland, because that's where my family is from.
Read this: "Slaughterhouse Five," by Kurt Vonnegut
Shout out to: My family.
