BETTENDORF, Iowa – Joe Evanovich III, 44, of Bettendorf, Iowa, was tragically torn from our lives Sunday, March 1, 2009, in a traffic accident.
Joe was born in 1964, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Joseph Jr. and Jane Evanovich. He married Kay Nelson on June 1, 1984, in Washington, Iowa.
There are no words to express our grief, no words to fill the emptiness of our hearts. Our beloved Joe was loved by everyone whose lives he touched. He loved his work as a financial planner; he was the youngest to be named into the Ameriprise Financial Hall of Fame. His client base spanned several states and was still growing.
As successful as Joe was at his work, he will be remembered for his success as a husband and father. Joe adored his wife, Kay, of 25 years. Together they built a family of three incredible kids, Joseph IV, Zachary, and Emma.
Joe loved his life and he lived his life with equally astonishing dignity and enthusiasm. He loved his family, his friends, his work, his Harley, his boat, the lake, and his walking buddy, Raymond.
We thank you, Joe … husband, father, brother, son, and friend … for being the light of our lives. You will live forever in our hearts.
Survivors include his wife, Kay; two sons, Joe Evanovich IV of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Zach Evanovich of Iowa City, Iowa; one daughter, Emma Evanovich at home; his parents, Joseph Jr. and Jane Evanovich of Washington, Iowa; three sisters, Aimee (Jeff) Enfield and Becky (Roger) Adam, both of Washington, Iowa, and Sarah (Chris) Leyden of Iowa City, Iowa; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; his mother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his father-in-law.
